Let me tell you about a visual treat that you can look forward to. It's at Alki Beach, located just west of Seattle, where the land curves out into Elliot Bay just enough so that you can stand on the boardwalk (or on the rocks with the saltwater just below your feet) and see two gorgeous views. From this vantage point, you can look west and watch the sun set gloriously over the Olympic Mountains (reds, oranges, and purples that must be seen to be believed) and then just turn back around to the east and watch the waning light reflected on the buildings downtown as their lights come on in the growing darkness -- Seattle seems to come glowingly alive in this nightly show of colors, and it's all free!
