What to Expect
Here are some of the many things you can expect when you study in the Campus IEP on the University of Washington main campus.

Class Size
The average class size is 14 students.

Language Learning Center
You will go to the Language Learning Center as a class or for self-study. The Center has audio and video materials, and special software to help you improve your listening and speaking skills.

Computer Access
Your Computer Access Account will provide you with a UW Net ID, university email account, and access to all computer labs and shared computer space on campus, including libraries.

IEP Newsletter
Each week you will receive the IEP Newsletter. This newsletter has important information about our program and community activities in the Seattle area.

Student Activities
  • The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students (FIUTS)
    FIUTS is a University of Washington organization that offers weekly lunches, activities and trips. You will be able to meet Americans and international students while you join in some fun social activities. Learn more... »

  • Experimental College
    UW students manage this college. You can sign up for fun classes such as Italian Cooking or Salsa Dancing. You will meet other UW students and people from the community in these inexpensive evening and weekend courses. Learn more... »

  • Conversation Partners
    If you like, we can match you with a Conversation Partner, an English speaker who is interested in learning your language.   • Volunteer Opportunities
    The Student Services and Immigration Advisor can help you find a good place to volunteer in Seattle, depending on your interests. Volunteering is a great way to meet Americans, practice your English, and learn about American culture.
