The focus of this certificate program is on improving English language skills in documents typically written in science and industry. The goal of this two-course online program is to help you improve your ability to:
- Write definitions
- Explain procedures
- Present data
- State comparisons and cause-effect relationships
- Propose solutions with appropriate English vocabulary and grammar structures
- Edit your own work for errors in grammar, vocabulary, and consistent format
Each course includes interactive online exercises, short assignments to send to the instructor, detailed one-on-one feedback, and an individualized final writing project.
After successfully completing both ESCI N160 and N170, you will receive a certificate from University of Washington Professional & Continuing Education.
